JOINT ADMISSIONS BOARD
PROCEDURE FOR ONLINE APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION TO PUBLIC UNIVERSITIES
2013 KCSE EXAMINATION CANDIDATES
The Joint Admissions Board has opened the online application system to receive application for admission to public universities for 2013 KCSE candidates. This online application was introduced for the first time during the application of degree choices by the 2012 K.C.S.E examination candidates and effectively replaced the manual one which involved completing physical JAB application forms.
This procedure consist of two modules: The schools module which will be done by the school Principal on behalf of the K.C.S.E. candidates, and the applicant’s module, which individual applicants will use during revision of degree choices.
THE SCHOOLS MODULE
This will be done by the school Principal who will compile the application information for all candidates registered for the KCSE examination in the school, and submit to the JAB, on behalf of the candidates, using the online application procedure. The Principal therefore, on behalf of the school, shall take responsibility of the validity, correctness and accuracy of the candidates’ application information submitted to the JAB.
The system’s school module will open for application on October 16, 2013, 00 hrs and close on January 15, 2014, 2400hrs. No application through the school module will be accepted by the system after the expiry of this period. Any late application may therefore only be considered during the time of revision, through the individual applicant’s module.
This module will be used by individual applicants during the revision of degree choices period whose dates will be announced by the JAB once the K.C.S.E examination results are released. It was introduced for the first time during the revision of degree choices by the 2011 K.C.E examination candidates
